La concejala de Residentes Extranjeros, Laura López y su equipo de trabajo, han mantenido una reunión con Arantxa Triguero y Alicia Garate, en representación de la Organización IOM UN MIGRATIONS para tratar varios asuntos de interés para la ciudadanía británica que reside en nuestra localidad.
Dicha organización, que ya ha colaborado con la citada área, pretende continuar ayudando a este sector poblacional para el procedimiento de obtención de residencia por primera vez en España.
Cabe recordar que desde el 1 de enero del 2021, todos aquellos británicos que quieran obtener la residencia tienen que acceder a la subdelegación del Gobierno de Málaga, y dada la dificultad del proceso, IOM UN MIGRATION, proyecto subvencionado por el gobierno británico, ofrecen ayuda y asesoramiento de forma totalmente gratuita.
Durante la jornada de hoy han recibido un total de 16 usuarios, proporcionándoles un trato personalizado y atendiendo todas sus dudas para facilitarles el proceso anteriormente señalado.
Estas visitas se vienen realizando desde hace un año y todos han sido realizadas con bastante número de usuarios interesados en el proceso.
Laura López está muy satisfecha del servicio que se está ofreciendo ya que considera fundamental tender la mano y ayudar a estas personas que necesitan profesionales que les guíen y aconsejen a la hora de realizar los trámites burocráticos, en este caso, para la obtención de residencia, apuntó.
The councilwoman for Foreign Residents, Laura López and her team, held a meeting with Arantxa Triguero and Alicia Garate, Legal advisors at the International Organization for Migration (IOM), to discuss matters of interest to UK Nationals residing in Sabinillas.
Since July 2020, the IoM has been supporting UK Nationals who are facing specific challenges with securing their residency rights in Spain, following the end of the Transition Period on 31 December 2020.
From 1 January 2021, UK Nationals who want to obtain residency must apply through the sub-delegation of the Government of Malaga. The process can be complex and for this reason, the IoM has been funded by the UK government to provide help and advice to those who need extra support with the process, free of charge.
At their outreach event on 24 March in Sabinillas, they assisted a total of 16 UK nationals, providing them with one-to-one advice and answering all of their questions to facilitate the process.
Laura López is very satisfied with the service that is being offered. She stated that it is essential to reach out and help people who struggle and need professionals to guide and advise them when carrying out bureaucratic procedures, in this case, to obtain residency.
